Canadian Armed Forces

Bell has partnered with the Canadian Armed Forces for more than 50 years and proudly supports the largest helicopter fleet in the Royal Canadian Air Force. The CH-146 Griffon is also the best-equipped and most capable militarized Bell 412 in the world. This fleet comprises 85 militarized, multi-role Bell 412 CF helicopters used for a variety of missions across Canada and deployed abroad in support of NATO/UN and other operations. Bell is currently modernizing the fleet under the "Griffon Limited Life Extension" (GLLE) project and the company was recently awarded an In-Service Support (ISS) contract for its sustainment until 2039.

This site occupies over 650,000 square feet alongside Mirabel airport, with 17 helipads and two runways. Since 1986, Bell Textron Canada LTD. has had nearly 6,000 helicopters roll off its production lines. Today, it holds more than 1,500 employees and the final assembly lines for the entirety of Bell's in-production commercial product line and conducts customization, engineering, type certification flights, support and services, and composite manufacturing.

The Canada Supply Centre (SC) distributes spares to 14 Canadian Customer Service Facilities (CSFs) and several large fleet operators. The teams operate in a modern airside facility, within 1 mile of major freight carriers. The Centre supports Transport Canada and the Canadian Coast Guard fleet, while sourcing spare parts to 10 Canadian Forces local and overseas bases, daily.

The Bell Textron Canada Ltd. team is led by Michael Nault, its Vice President and General Manager, who draws on his 17 years of experience at Bell and Textron to pursue an integrated strategy and ensure the company’s competitiveness. He is supported by senior management, who continuously improve Bell’s operational experience, relationships with customers around the world and support to the Canadian Armed Forces, while developing various opportunities to innovate and take the company above and beyond flight.
